How long you can stay
Up to 6 months per entryThe visa itself grants no stay — it only lets you travel to a port of entry. A CBP officer decides how long you may remain, normally up to 6 months on a B1/B2 visa, and records it on your I-94, which is the authoritative record of your departure date. A visa valid for several years does not entitle you to stay for that whole period. You can file for an extension with USCIS before the recorded date passes.
